An example of the power of a Personal Profile on a social networking sight in particular, is that you can interpret quotes and then instantly form an opinion about that person. So in extension to that; profile quotes, I believe, are a personal branding tool.
I've decided to keep my Personal Profile as compact as I can make it. This is because I was given guidance from a coach I respected to 'keep it short n' sweet and leave the buggers wanting more' it makes me smile every time I refer to it. Obviously I'm aware that it is of paramount importance to include all information about my history and how my past experiences have helped to shape me into the person/performer I am today. I believe that interjecting a good dose of personality and humour can do no wrong, especially taking into account that there are a whole heap of Personal Profiles out there and yours has to stand out, and not be boring!
I like this blog - really agree with what you have said. I read your guidance quote smiling like you said you do - you just can't help not too! It is very true and as you said you know you have to include all important information there's nothing else you need. Just by this blog you can tell you have a lot of personality and you made me want to read more '...leave the buggers wanting more' you certainly do this with your way of writing. Look forward to reading your profile.
ReplyDeleteYour 100% right, this profile is aimed at your target audience, which could be future employers, so it seems pointless not to be yourself...
ReplyDeleteSo don't hold back...be the Hippy you are!!
I think you should write a little summary about what you were discussing on Campus yesterday, about using the internet in a positive way using reference to "The Secret" you made some good points and would make an interesting read.
Speak to you soon.
